I walked with a non-birding friend down to Stretham and back yesterday. Not too much visible on the floods, some Gulls and Mallards, a Grey Heron, a couple of Buzzards, one very pale, single Cormorant plus a Kestrel in the roost tree. Fieldfares and Redwings both heard.

As I walked along North Common with Maya this morning, a male Sparrowhawk flew across the reedbed – may have been trying to get elevenses from the sparrow roost in the bushes of one of the houses? (VB)
