On the 17th we did the circuit down to Eastout and back to the Lydds through White’s fields. There were sheep in the large field south of Hundredsteddle and as I walked on saw many Swallows feeding low over the field, chattering away.  Difficult to say how many, but between 30 and 50.  At the bottom of the field the trees along the boundary were adorned with Goldfinches. At least one Greenfinch seen among them, and Willow Warbler heard.  At the point where the path turns sharp right up to the Lydds a Blackcap was singing fairly quietly – something between a full and sub song.
