Lots of birds singing, nest building and feeding young yesterday morning. Goldfinches, Chiffchaffs, a Cetti’s Warbler, Lesser Whitethroats, Song Thrushes, Long-tailed Tits, Blackcaps and Nightingales along the Mill Stream and Stonechats, Reed Buntings, Wrens, Skylarks and Linnets in the fields beyond. A pair of Lapwing who are probably nesting in the wheat field chased off a hovering Kestrel. Two Little Egrets flew into the wet area and four House Martins were gathering mud. (PB)
