We launch our anniversary year with a talk by local naturalist and photographer David Plummer  ‘Home and Away – 25 Years of Photographing Wildlife Around the World’. This takes place in Henfield Hall at 7.30pm. David is well known to us and has talked before and this talk covers his beginnings as a professional photographer around Henfield and then progressed to photographing wildlife in Brazil and Uganda. His talk will also cover how he has coped with being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease 15 years ago and having to adapt to maintain his career as a professional photographer. David will also talk about his passion for Tawny Owls that were recently the stars of the recent BBC programme ‘Hamza- Strictly Birds of Prey’ as well featuring on David Attenborough’s programme ‘The Wild Isles’. A film about David called ’15 Years’ on how he has coped with his disease has now been nominated for a Cannes Film Festival Award 2024. As well as all this, he became a bestselling author with his book ‘7 Years of Camera Shake.’
Members will of course have free entry to the talk but it is a ticketed event as we are expecting that it will attract a big audience. You can get a ticket through the Henfield Birdwatch website . £3.00 to non members.
