Tony, Roger K and Angela accompanied me on the Area 2 walk today. A slowish start was eventually made good with a mixed Swallow and House Martin group, a very elusive Goldcrest, a noisy Nuthatch and lots of twittering Robins. Angela found some difficult to see Pied Wagtails on a ploughed field where we eventually realised there were quite a few well disguised LBJs which turned out to be Meadow Pipits. Near Deers Leap we saw some deer not unsurprisingly and were entertained aurally and visually by Skylarks. Only one Yellowhammer today. Best raptor probably a Red Kite although challenged hard by Buzzards and a Kestrel.
