When nipping out for a paper, I’m pretty sure three little things in a tree near the garage were Lesser Redpolls, which then bounced off towards the Common. Mid-morning as I headed down the drive a Blackcap was singing by where the gate would be if we had one. This afternoon at least 120 finches, mainly Chaffinches and Goldfinches, but the odd Yellowhammer were on White’s fields behind South Common, while a Mistle Thrush was singing again near Holedean. A Goldcrest has been singing away in the garden for several days now. (VB)
