The wildfowl on the floods by Rye Farm this morning consisted mainly of Greylag and Canada Geese, maybe a couple of hundred of each, a few Shoveler, quite a lot of Wigeon a family of Mute Swans with 2 juniors, a Grey Heron, but not a lot else. Two Crows were harassing a Buzzard. When I walked back along the railway line we were surrounded at one point by a chattering group of Long-tailed Tits, must have been 15 or so. Three Dunnocks were frisking about in their usual spot – where they weren’t to be seen during the Big Bird Bash of course! The only thing I got close enough to to photograph to  was a splendidly bright Blue Tit. (VB)
