36 different species seen or heard on the patch today, with the highlights being a lovely twittery group of Long-tailed Tits half way down to Stretham, two Stonechats by the river, 2 Snipe “shapping” as they flew up from the overflow pit, and about 35 Goldfinches in a little flock along the river bank.  I’m pretty sure a couple of Redpolls flew over, and I saw a Kestrel by Stretham and another north of Rye Farm as I headed back up the track.  A Buzzard was sitting on one of the wooden shooting blinds, and a Heron was perched on exactly the same post where Louise and I saw one last month. And of course, without Louise I had no chance of a  Treecreeper!
